OEHCRI’s National Safety Month Contest

June is National Safety Month, and you are invited to participate in The Occupational and Environmental Health Center of RI (OEHCRI)’s Safety Contest. This month-long event will allow friendly competition between groups, while highlighting the importance of safe practices, both at work and at home.

Attached you will find a calendar. Each day, you are encouraged to focus on a particular aspect of safety and to take photographs of yourself, your co-workers, or your family doing so — safely, of course. Then, submit photographs**  to OEHCRI for us to share on our Facebook and Twitter pages. Whichever group submits the most photographs over the course of the month will be declared the winner, and will receive the OEHCRI Award for Safety Excellence.

Our goal is to remind the community to make safety a priority every day, not just during this month. Additional details and recommendations are attached.

We look forward to your responses! Good luck!

Facebook page and share directly with us.
2. With each entry, specify the group you are entering for, so that we may recognize the group by name.
3. Photographs must be of a different person to count. You may send three separate
photographs of workers wearing hard hats, but sending three photographs of the same
person(s) wearing hard hats will only be counted once.
4. Overlapping safety ideas is ok! You may submit photographs of your family wearing
sunglasses for “The ‘Eyes’ Have It!” and for “Sun-Day Monday,” as long as it is a different
photograph taken on each day.
5. On a “Free Day,” you are invited to get creative. Do you have an idea for something that is not on the calendar? Are you using fall protection on a day that is not Fall Protection Friday? Show us! Don’t forget to explain what you are doing, if it is not easy to recognize.
